After many years of being a “lounge lizard” (performing in bands, duos and as a solo artist- playing piano and singing), my wife noticed that my jobs were not consistent or reliable, and had the nerve to suggest I get a job! Having had a brief career doing interior design I began refreshing my client’s exteriors as well as their interiors. I landed a job at Moller’s Garden Center in Palm Desert, CA, not knowing one single Latin botanical name or had no idea how dang heavy everything in the nursery was! After doing a few small side jobs, I decided to go back to college at the College of the Desert and study landscape design. I apprenticed for a year with a local company, while I studied for my contractor’s license, which I received in 1993.
My wife and I started Phillippi Landscape soon after that, and successfully installed hundreds of landscapes across the Coachella Valley. Things were going great until 2008, and we had to sadly close our company.
I put the word out I was available, & Vintage Landscape has been putting up with me for over ten years.
